Joseph C. Rhodes

Joseph is in God’s presence (represented by the brown cross).

On the top in blue, since he was a boy, is his birth date.

On the bottom in gold (representing God is King) is the date he was called home.

On the left in gray is a computer. Inside the monitor is IBM because I think that was his favorite of the computer companies he worked for. On the right is a silhouette of a golfer.

He loved to play golf. The left and right symbols represent his work and play.

He was “on loan” to me and I am deeply honored to have spent 38 years with him.

Allen Bakker

Nov. 19, 1952 – Nov. 6, 2013

As Allen’s wife of 33 years, I came to know a young geologist whose love of earth science and the natural settings of the great outdoors molded his life.

Always encouraging his family and friends to learn to love and enjoy our many state and national parks.

Family trips full of quality time filled vacation time. Our many years in Texas lead us to retire in the lovely but rugged mountains of west Texas.
