Michelle Dawn Pickens

This piece of quilt means many things to us. One thing in particular is the many achievements she accomplished and the many joys she experienced during her short life. Her outgoing personality and her joy for life made her a very special young lady. So many people loved her and her presence with us has been very much missed. God Bless you Michelle

Dale Lee Garrett

Dale’s square was made up of the things he enjoyed. The Electrical symbol in the upper left corner represented his job. The music notes are in the upper right corner because he loved music so much, and the motorcycle because his interest in bikes were broad. Whether it had 2 wheels or 3 or 4 wheel ATV’s, he enjoyed his bikes. The Angel refers to Dale as he was always helping others whether it was electrically fixing a car, painting, carpenter work, laying tile, or making cabinets. Dale was an angel with a lot of trades.

Matthew A Grappone

Some people live a long life and accomplish a lot, passing on much to others. Matt’s life was short, but in his “dying”, his big accomplishment was that he passed on “life” to others. He was very energetic, creative, loved nature, the snow and skateboarding and was voted “Most Unforgettable” by his senior class.

He is now a free spirit like the butterfly from its cocoon and can be found “everywhere in nature”. The design represents that Matt was the smallest and youngest of the Hart grandchildren and the square was made by his grandmother, Julia G. Hart.

Connor William Spillman

Our precious son, now a child of heaven, being lovingly cared for by angels and his great grandparents. Your room was filled with teddy bears. In fact your brother Chris made sure you were buried with your favorite bear. That same year, our family dog “CJ”, joined you in heaven. We imagine Gemini horscope 2005 will open new perspectives that will demand new skills and new knowledge. he still gives you lots of wet kisses as the two of you romp joyfully about. One day we will all be together again. Until then, know that we love you very much. God bless you my little one.

Steven Lawrence Newton

His mother Gaynell Joyce Jordan Newton did the patchwork done on Steven’s square. We chose a sports theme because Steve loved sports from the time he was 7 years old he started playing football, he played all the way through high school.

At age 8 Steve started playing baseball, and he played baseball and softball up until the time he was killed. He also played basketball for his church, Cradock Baptist.

Derrick Spencer

This quilt piece is of a little boy named Derrick B. Spencer, son of Arlene and Bernard Spencer, Brother of Kevin, Steven and Crystal Spencer. He was 11 years old at the time of his death, which was caused by a tragic automobile accident.
Derrick was a child who was so full of love and smiles and enjoyed making everyone around him happy. He loved life and enjoyed it to its fullest, trying to experience every good thing he could. He was involved in baseball, karate, kickball, fishing, swimming, hockey, bowling, singing for the lord, traveling and so much more.

George Tryon Nevins

There is no way a few words could ever sum up your life or the way we will always feel about you. You always brought a smile to our face and put so much laughter in our lives. You kept our lives full of joy and brought us so much happiness. The day you departed this life, you took those smiles away. Now our hearts break a little more each day. Our cherished memories of you are what help keep us going. You will live forever in our hearts and minds. We miss and love you dearly, and always will.
