LifeNet Health provides organ recovery services for the greater Virginia area, and as the federally designated Organ Procurement Organization, serves a population of approximately 5.2 million people and more than 80 hospitals. LifeNet Health works closely with hospital staff to create donation systems within their institutions in an effort to streamline the donation process and increase donation. LifeNet Health Transplant Services Division is a leading, federally designated Organ Procurement Organization that coordinates the recovery and transplant of organs in Virginia and part of West Virginia, offers a comprehensive program of bereavement support for donor families, and educates the public about donation.
