Tissue Development Newsletter Concept

Tissue donation would not be possible without the final act of generosity and kindness of donors and the support of their families.  The decision to donate, whether made by the donor or their family, was done in hope of helping others in need.

Most families never learn the difference their gifts have made to the recipients-LifeNet Health wants to change that.

A collaboration of many departments led to the Thanks 2You program.  The graft insert card was created to be included in every tissue graft distributed by LifeNet Health. We ask that hospital staff include the Allograft serial number on the Thanks2You card and give it to the recipient following the surgery.

July 1, 2014 marked the Eight Year Anniversary of LifeNet Health’s Thanks2You Program.
Since that time, over 12,500 letters have been received and forwarded to donor families across the country.  These letters reinforce the importance of tissue donation, and confirm to the donor families that they made the right decision to donate

I am writing you to let you know of my humble gratitude to you and your loved one, who have
helped lives such as mine through the gift of tissue donation.

Because of your kindness, I did not lose my leg and the doctors thought I would. We live in a very rural area in Southwest Virginia, so we had to travel to UVA in Charlottesville, VA. I have diabetes and have undergone two bypasses on both legs, and I am up an about now…thanks to your family.
Please know I am very sorry for your loss. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your willingness to donate tissue.

I will never forget your generosity. Thank you. A grateful recipient.
