Keith Alan Cawley

September 12, 1961 – May 28, 2009

This quilt square represents the greatest man I’ve ever known, my father, Keith Alan Cawley. His Heaven date was May 28, 2009. This picture within the quilt square was taken just 2 weeks prior to his death and he was doing what he loved to do, which was fishing. My father was a simple man that enjoyed the simple joys of life. He loved to sit back on a sunny day and enjoy the breeze, sit on a bank with a fishing pole in hand, and most importantly, spending time with the people he loved. His favorite color was yellow, his favorite flower was a yellow rose, he loved listening to music; particularly old school rock. It’s hard to sum up his life or our feelings for him within a paragraph. I know in the 47 years he was here with us, he touched many lives, if only with a smile. The quilt square is made out of his clothing, including his jean bib overalls and a flannel shirt he wore. I didn’t have a clue how to sew, so with the help of my aunt, his sister-in-law, she made this beautiful piece of art just to represent my daddy. My father was an eye and tissue donor; he will live on within others. Until we meet again, we miss you very much! It’s been a sweet love! Love you always…
